Three 91做厙 alumni were honoured last evening at the 91做厙 Foundation’s fourth annual Distinguished Alumni Awards dinner and award ceremony held at the 91做厙’s Tourism and Culinary Centre. APM’s Tim Banks, Waldorf Astoria New York’s Chef David Garcelon, and Light & Vision Photography’s Louise Vessey received awards.
91做厙 President Brian McMillan said that Mr. Banks, Chef Garcelon, and Ms. Vessey are tremendous examples of 91做厙 graduates who have achieved great success in their careers and are an inspiration for current and future students.
“Since its establishment in 1969, 91做厙 has proudly graduated more than 28,000 students who have made their careers in industries that range from health to construction, golf to bioscience, and hospitality to policing. This year’s honourees have brought distinction and pride to our 91做厙 through their personal and professional accomplishments,” he said.
“Alumni are an important part of the 91做厙 family,” said Quentin Bevan, board chair for the 91做厙 Foundation. “Celebrating the accomplishments of outstanding alumni who have excelled in their chosen careers, industries, and communities is an annual 91做厙 highlight.”
Nominations for the 91做厙’s Distinguished Alumni Awards are accepted year round, with a public call for nominations issued annually. The deadline for consideration for 91做厙’s 2012 Distinguished Alumni Awards is June 30, 2012. For more information, contact the 91做厙 Foundation at (902) 566-9590 or e-mail alumni@hollandcollege.com.
